Type of Pumps
According to the working principle and structure of the pump, there are several types of pumps:
The scope of application and characteristics of the pump are shown in Table 1-1 and Figure 1-1
Table 1-1
Typical chemical pump characteristics and selection requirements
Typical pumps used in chemical production process are: feed pump, return pump, tower bottom pump, circulation pump, product pump, injection pump, supply pump, flushing pump, sewage pump, fuel pump, lubrication pump and sealing liquid pump, etc., their characteristics and selection requirements are shown in Table 1-2.
Chemical equipment for pump requirements
1) Must meet the requirements of flow, lift, pressure, temperature, cavitation margin and other process parameters.
(2) Must meet the requirements of the medium characteristics:
a) For pumps that transport flammable, explosive, toxic or valuable media, reliable shaft seals are required or non-leakage pumps are used, such as shield pumps, magnetic drive pumps, diaphragm pumps, etc.
b) For pumps that transport corrosive media, the flow parts are required to use corrosion-resistant materials.
c) For pumps containing solid particle media, wear-resistant materials are required for the flow parts, and clean liquid should be used to wash the shaft seal if necessary.
(3) Must meet the installation requirements of the site:
a) For pumps installed in the presence of corrosive gases, anti-atmospheric corrosion measures are required.
b) For pumps installed in the outdoor ambient temperature below -20 ° C, it is required to consider the cold brittleness of the pump and use low-temperature resistant materials.
c) For the pump installed in the explosion area, explosion-proof motors should be used according to the grade of the explosion area.
(4) For factories requiring a major overhaul every year, the continuous operation cycle of the pump should generally not be less than 8,000 hours. In order to meet the requirements of a major overhaul in three years, API610(8th edition) stipulates that the continuous operation cycle of pumps used in the petroleum, heavy chemical and gas industries is at least three years.
(5) The design life of the pump is generally at least 10 years. API610(8th edition) specifies a design life of at least 20 years for centrifugal pumps used in the petroleum, heavy chemical and gas industries.
(6) The design, manufacture and inspection of the pump should comply with the provisions of the relevant standards and specifications, and the commonly used standards and specifications are shown in Table 1-3.
(7) The pump factory should ensure the performance of the pump in the range of power supply voltage and frequency changes. The variation range of China's power supply voltage and frequency is:
voltage 380V±l0%,6000V+5%~-7%
frequency 50Hz土0.5%
(8) When determining the type and manufacturer of the pump, the performance, energy consumption, reliability, price and manufacturing specifications of the pump should be considered comprehensively.
